Overview:
In June 2006, Prof. Sridhar Iyer (Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Bombay) was invited to design a computer curriculum for Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir (SSRVM) group of schools. A team compromising of experts in the field of IT, animation and psychology analyzed the computer teaching literature of schools in many countries and came up with insights for suitable ways of teaching computers to children.
The result of this research was a draft curriculum of a computer course which is “fun to do” and captures the interests of the children. It is activity based, making use of many of the latest teaching tools and software.
This curriculum was experimented for two years as a pilot project in schools in Mumbai which, ultimately, resulted in the creation of Computer Masti.
